What do I mean when I say unlock WHOLE you potential?

So many of us are scratching the surface with accessing our potential because we approach it from the mind.

The mind is responsible for 20% of our experience.

Meanwhile, the body is responsible for 80%.

Our body sends four times more information to our brain than our brain to our body.

That is pretty astonishing if you take a moment and breathe into that.

There is a famous quote by Maya Angelou, “At the end of the day, people won’t remember what you said or did; they will remember how you made them feel.”

Our emotions and felt senses are a primary source of information to help us navigate life.

However, as we know, our emotions can also cloud our judgement and result in us making decisions that are not always “the wise” choices.

So, we often disconnect from our emotions (especially during stressful times) and lean on logic and intellect to solve problems.

That is because our culture and society have been undereducated about regulating emotions and developing emotional intelligence.

Believe it or not, emotions, when regulated, give us much insight into our experience about what we like and dislike.

If we choose to disconnect from our bodies and hearts totally, we can become numb, emotionless and disconnected from our #higherenergy.

This can lead us into states of depression, which is simply an inability to feel one’s emotions.

Right now, we’re seeing unprecedented rates of depression and anxiety creeping up in our work cultures, and yet, no one is speaking up about emotional health.

That is because emotions are a big part of our human experience, and when they’re taught to be ignored or suppressed, we feel incredibly alone and disconnected.

A big thing we hear about often is learning to control our emotions.

I challenge that.

Control comes from a place of fear.

Rather, learning to regulate emotions comes from a place of empowerment.

One of the many reasons companies fail today is a disconnect between our emotional experience and how that translates to productivity and performance.

When we attempt to control or repress emotions, we lose 80% of afferent data sent from our bodies to our brains, which can help us make decisions, communicate powerfully, and be creative.

Many of us don’t realize that the main reason our minds are so active is the unprocessed emotional data from our bodies that want to be felt and acknowledged.

So you may be wondering, “How can I regulate emotions and access WHOLE-me potential?”

It all starts with the breath.

When we breathe consciously, we get out of our heads and into our bodies and reconnect with our ability to feel.

This allows the body to enter its natural process of self-healing and self-regulating emotions such as fear, frustration, sadness, or anger and alchemize them into trust, ease, joy, and pleasure.

Life is so much brighter when we can feel the whole spectrum of emotions with a calm mind and an open heart.

After all, we realize that we are not our emotions; we are not our thoughts (we are so much more); they are simply a part of our expression.
