Hello Linkedin Friends,
In the last few articles, I’ve been exploring different ideas around anxiety.
If you missed them; here are some highlights:
1. Anxiety is not the problem, it’s our relationship to it.
2. Anxiety is simply fear of the unknown.
3. Anxiety is caused by fear because you hold limited belief systems about yourself.
Last week I explored the importance of choosing safety.
Because believe it or not, everything is a choice.
The other day, I was cold plunging and a lady watching me said.
“I can’t do that, I could never.”
Her fear caused by limited beliefs keeps her stuck/unsafe.
Which I could tell very quickly caused her much suffering and limitation in her life.
Because how we approach the unknown tells us a lot about how safe we feel.
So I said in response, “You choose not to do this.”
She paused and immediately popped out of her auto-pilot program and our souls met.
She responded, “I guess you’re right, I chose not to try it.”
At that moment, I knew she made a big shift.
What she CHOOSES to do with that is up to her.
We all have access to free will.
What we choose to believe is up to us.
Over the last 2.5 years, nothing in my life has felt familiar or safe.
From leaving the corporate world to starting a business to moving to the forest to spending my last dollars investing in myself to working with plant medicines to practicing breathwork…
Nothing has felt “safe” or familiar.
At least to my nervous system.
And that is something we need to understand at a deeper level.
Our bodies and our nervous system are hard-wired for survival.
For 25+ years, I programmed my mind, and body (nervous system) to believe that I was only safe when…
- I had a tech sales job making 200K/year
- I had a logical way of looking at everything
- I had to fight for what I had/wanted
- I had medication/drugs/alcohol as a form of numbing out
- I had validation from the external world
- I had constant plans/things to do/people to see/places to go
- I had relationships (even if they were co-dependent or toxic)
- I had material possessions ie. fancy clothes, a nice car and a condo downtown TO
- I had fear driving my decisions (living in hyper-stress was my norm)
And so forth.
These belief systems formed my entire reality.
And for most of us, we don’t know anything different.
Because from the moment we are born, we’re taught to believe this is it. (or is it 🤔)
However, I was creating my anxiety based on my limited beliefs.
Because limited beliefs = fear = anxiety.
WHY?
Our limited beliefs don’t align with WHOM we are — truly.
Who we are (truly) is #higherenergy and when we create separation from that fundamental truth — we create fear which creates anxiety.
However, if our bodies and nervous system are hardwired to serve those limited belief systems the chance of transformation is quite slim.
This is why people even with the best intentions for change — fail.
Because the body fights to stay in what is comfortable/safe.
For example; you may know a certain relationship in your life inherently is not serving you.
However, there’s a certain comfort or safety in it.
On a higher level of consciousness, you KNOW that it’s time for you to let that relationship go.
But, your body longs for it.
Your body is addicted to the chemicals.
The stress hormones.
The push/pull.
The makeup.
Your core belief that you are not worthy keeps you looping.
(this could be the same as a job)
In turn, you secretly guilt/shame yourself for it.
This, my friends, is NOT what true safety is.
It causes you anxiety because, at a higher level, YOU are WORTHY.
However, you choose to believe something that contradicts that = anxiety.
And you are doing the greatest disservice to yourself, that person or role.
WHY?
Because you are not acting in accordance with your #higherenergy and choosing to align with the higher perspective that says “I am worthy.”
If you believe you are worthy, you would not tolerate such behaviour from yourself or the other person.
The energy would either dissipate or the relationship would upgrade.
You receive what you believe.
So there’s a lot to unravel here.
And I say that because there are many layers to our belief systems.
We have to address the trauma, unprocessed emotions and unresolved energy.
It takes conscious work to get to the core.
The core of whom we really are.
We have to work with our bodies, nervous systems, minds, and hearts to create a balance.
A sense of c o h e s i v e n e s s.
When I started doing deep work with myself, I realized mindset work (in terms of simply thinking positively) would not work.
I needed to address the body, most importantly my nervous system.
If I was going to facilitate a WHOLE-self transformation — it needed to include all of me.
Because my dream was always to become an entrepreneur and help people on a deeper level.
So over the last few years, what I found that helped me the most was/is Breathwork.
Breathwork helped me;
- Address the limited beliefs I held, by making what was once unconscious conscious.
- Reprogram my beliefs, by connecting me to my #HigherEnergy which helped me breathe beyond my limitations and access my unlimited.
- Process trauma, by closing the loop on unprocessed or unresolved experiences.
- Regulate my nervous system, by helping me create a new sense of safety in a deep sense of trust in myself and life rooted in self-love.
- Re-calibrate my energetic field, by raising my consciousness, I raised the bar on the relationships, experiences and goals I preferred to attract.
- Reversed and healed my health issues, such as insomnia, chronic anxiety, and seasonal depression.
- Relaxed my body and gave me a newfound sense of inner peace.
I guess the biggest thing that Breathwork helped me with is remembering WHO I am — truly.
I am Higher Energy.
And so ARE YOU.
Because I can genuinely say if you *think* you know yourself, you probably don’t until you get beyond yourself.
If I led with my mind, if I allowed my limited beliefs to dictate my life, I would NOT be here today.
I had to unravel everything I thought I was and become a nobody and within that, I became all of me.
Three questions for you:

The best times are the morning when you wake up, or the evening before you go to sleep.
