Hello Linkedin Friends,
In this week’s newsletter, I’d like to discuss the concept of self-release, a game-changer for managing energy and feeling lighter.
Many of us feel the weight of the world on our shoulders, leading to body pains and chronic inflammation.
Self-release helps pinpoint the root cause, allowing us to heal.
Pain is simply a messenger, indicating an energetic imbalance.
By getting curious about these issues, we can reconnect with our innate ability to self-heal.
So, let’s dive in!
In today’s world, many of us are disconnected from our inner healers.
We’re overwhelmed with information and often unsure of how to care for our bodies.
This has led to widespread physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual distress.
But are people sick or is it the circumstances, or environment causing them to feel sick?
Something to reflect on.
The first thing to know and remember is that you are perfect as you are.
You were designed with an intelligent system that when given the right conditions and environment can heal from anything.
You may think I am crazy for saying that, however, I truly believe it.
Dr. Ellen Langer from Harvard University said “Stress is the number one cause of all disease.”
You see “DIS-EASE” is a lack of comfort or ease.
When we choose to create an internal state of being that is comfortable and embodied with ease, we are creating an environment for healing.
Because you have the power to heal.
Your breath and intention are two of the most powerful medicines you have.
So how can you release the stress grip that you so tightly have on yourself?
Here are three steps to practice self-release.
Step One: Log In
- Take deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. Repeat several times.
- Perform a body scan to identify areas holding tension (neck, shoulders, chest, lower back, hips).
- Notice where in the body you are holding tension. This is the first clue.
Step 2: Perceive + Breathe
Remember, our physical sensations are the first layer, however, beneath them is typically where the emotions are stored.
For example, a client identifies that in the lower belly, they feel tension and tightness.
We breathe into that area, place a hand and gently palpitate.
As we create more spaciousness and safety in the body through breath and intention the client starts to feel an emotion.
That emotion is tied to their self-concept or self-identity.
When I ask the client to define that emotion, they realize it’s shame.
Shame is the underlying emotion that is causing the tension.
Step 3: Equalize
There are three questions you can ask in this step.
- Can I allow myself to feel this emotion?
- Can I accept that I am feeling this?
- Can I welcome this emotion of shame?
This is a powerful practice because instead of suppressing that emotion we are giving that emotion breathing room to be felt/expressed.
Typically, the client at this point starts to identify memories that are connected to this shame and how they never truly felt confident about who they are.
This emotion of shame when it’s unalchemized can create cascading effects such as digestion issues.
Step Four: The Conversion
When we allow, accept and welcome the emotion of shame, we expand it with our breath and release it through authentic expression, we come into a deep appreciation of ourselves for simply being.
We realize our capacity to feel shame is connected to our capacity to feel appreciation and self-love.
It’s simply the meaning we give it.
We can change our relationship with shame by strengthening the relationship we have with ourselves by activating emotions like appreciation, care or compassion for ourselves.
Remembering that whatever experiences happened to us, happened for us to evolve and grow and learn what we do NOT prefer so we can move in the direction of our ultimate preference.
Which is of love, peace, freedom and joy.
Conclusion:
In our world, we often see physical symptoms as problems to be medicated, rather than signals pointing to deeper issues.
However, it’s important especially NOW to get curious and take charge of your healing journey.
In countless emotional release sessions, I’ve witnessed remarkable transformations. When someone is held in an unconditionally loving presence, they can fully feel and release their emotions, leading to profound healing.
